This rambling cottage with its sunny windows and wood-paneled walls will have visitors feeling as though they have found themselves in a forest fairytale reminiscent of Snow White or Goldilocks. Sassafras Breeze has a stacked stone fireplace and flat screen TV in the living room, along with a fully equipped kitchen; if you’re someone who isn’t too interested in takeout while you’re visiting, this should be the perfect vacation spot for you to enjoy delicious home cooked meals every day. There is also a dishwasher, making cleanup a breeze.

Outside, sip some coffee on the covered back porch or cook a delicious meal on the charcoal grill outside that you can share with family in the evening; maybe you can even catch some trout on a day adventure and prepare it that night for dinner! Other amenities here include a washer and dryer, so you can pack light as you head to your home away from home.

Sassafras Breeze has one bedroom with a hand-crafted queen bed that will offer a unique and cozy sleeping experience. There is also another bedroom with two twins. Finally, the sofa is a hide-a-bed for any additional visitors who won’t fit within the two bedrooms. The vacation home also has a bathroom with two sinks, a tub, and a shower.

Unique Features

One of the best elements of a vacation experience at Sassafras Breeze is that visitors don’t have to step away from the amazing technology that being in the outside world offers. There is a flat screen TV hanging above the fire, with Dish Network. There is also WiFi, so you don’t have to miss the chance to update your feed immediately with pictures of your fun adventures.

Things To Do

Visitors to the North Carolina mountains are truly in for a treat when they come and stay with us. Enjoy a variety of outdoor activities that range from golfing to fishing to hiking. The Appalachian Trail is a bucket list adventure for many; go on a short walk there just to say you did it, or enjoy one of our more strenuous hikes and see if you think you could handle the famous venture from Georgia to Maine that travelers go on every year. Take a couple of days away from the cabin to go backpacking in the mountains, or simply enjoy some fresh air and come back to the comforts of WiFi and modern heating and air!

Visitors who aren’t as into the great outdoors still have many fun things that they could do! Go shopping for souvenirs somewhere as quirky as Uncle Bunky’s T Shirt Shop, or buy something to occupy your time in the evenings at Friends of the Library Used Book Store. Shopping enthusiasts should be able to spend at least a day foraging for treasures in this eclectic mountain town.

When you’re ready for a bite to eat, head to Dolce Vita Desert Bakery for a sweet treat. For heartier fare, check out Guayabitos Mexican Restaurant or Nantahala Brewing’s Burger & Bar. Wherever you go, you should be guaranteed good food and service!

Reviews

It's the most beautiful area of the country I have ever been to, and I have traveled all over. The cabin is homey, and warm. Beautifully decorated in rustic furniture. You do not have to travel but 10 minutes to be next to the river which will take your breath away. Jim and Peggy went above and beyond providing information of everything close by. was just as described on the website, and even better when you see it with your own eyes.
The only problem is that we could not stay any longer. Kay Roll
Great, peaceful place to stay to kick your heels up, forget technology and just become one with nature. Or close enough to stay connected and just have some down time away from the rat race we call life!! Can BBQ dinner, cook in a conventional kitchen with all you left at home or you can find dining pretty close by, depending on what you have in mind. Love these cabins. I wish I could go 3 or 4 times a year because all the seasons have their own beauty from this back porch! Beau-Betty Smith
