Mitchell view at High Rock is a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom luxury-style cabin that sits right in front of Mount Mitchell! (The highest peak east of the Mississippi.) Every morning, you and your guests will be greeted by a breathtaking view! Our cabin can accommodate up to 10 people comfortably, which makes it the perfect stay for an extended summer vacation or for a holiday break!
Our country-style kitchen is fully stocked and has all of the amenities that you may need during your stay with us!
The living room area has a comfy sofa, two chairs, a stone fireplace, and a flat screen tv! So, if it were to rain, you and your guests can still enjoy a nice day indoors playing games and watching movies together! For entertainment purposes, we do offer a pool table, multiple flat-screen TVs, an air hockey table, and more!
Sleeping arrangements: The master room on the main floor has a king-size bed, with direct deck access. The loft bedroom is kid friendly with two twin trundles, totaling 4 twin beds. The second master room on the lower level has a king-size bed. Both bathrooms have a shower/tub combination and are very spacious! We also have an intimate downstairs bedroom with another king-size bed! Also, for extra space, the sofa located in the game room is a pull-out queen-size sofa bed.
Mitchell View at High Rock has a beautiful deck with multiple seating for you and your guests to enjoy the beautiful views! We also have a jacuzzi out on the deck as well! Just imagine yourself relaxing with a glass of wine, under the moonlight, as you look out at all of the nature around you! There is also plenty of space out in the front/backyard for the kids to play/explore!
You and your guests will never run out of things to do during your stay with us! There is something for everyone to enjoy here! The possibilities are truly endless!
If you are looking to see some picturesque views, take a hike in the Blue Ridge Mountains! It’s a bit of a drive but it’s definitely worth visiting! North Carolina Arboretum is a 434-acre public garden that has a wide variety of plant species from all over the world! This is the perfect place for an afternoon stroll!
Take a trip to Downtown Asheville, to enjoy some local art museums, fun restaurants, live music, brewery tours, ghost tours, historic landscapes, and more! Don’t forget to go on a Segway tour to see some of the main landmarks here! This is such a fun activity to do with your guests! The tours usually last for about 2 hours and they’ll take you up to the River Arts District and along the French Broad River Park. But tours may change depending on the day!
Our home is great for family get-togethers/reunions and is close to all of the nearby convenience stores! Come enjoy our home in any season! You and your family / friends will surely have a great time here!

6th visit! This was our sixth visit overall and third to Mitchell View (we’ve stayed at Creekside, Hideaway and Timber). This place holds so many memories for our family. It’s like our favorite blanket when we get here. The cabins are always welcoming and in order and the property can’t be beat. This time we had some ice and it’s so easy to stay inside or on property and still have a fantastic day. I know we can call Mike for anything. There’s a lot to be said for reliability and consistency and we have that here. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful spot and making it so easy to come back! Family with young children
I've been staying at various High Rock Rentals for years now. My most recent stay was at Mitchell View. As always, the stay was great. The cabins are very clean and they have everything needed. I spend quite a bit of time in the cabin because I enjoy the views and I enjoy cooking. Everything is provided to make it easy, like an abundance of kitchen utensils and plates, together with the large kitchen and gas BBQ grill on the deck. The fireplace inside is perfect for the winter months--as is the hot tub on the deck. I appreciate all that the owner does to keep these cabins in great condition. I can't wait for my next stay! Ray
Exactly what we expected. We had a great multi-family trip here with our kids and pups. The cabin was spacious and exactly as pictured. Great views off the top deck and the air hockey was a fun plus. Kids enjoyed the short walk to the creek and firepit. The house felt private as well as you can't see or hear any neighbors when hanging outside. Plenty of attractions within a 30 min drive so it was very convenient for us and Mike was helpful. We would definitely stay again! Group
