Once again Cheryl, we had an awesome vacation. Enjoyed watching the deer and turkey in the neighboring field. Very comfortable, peaceful cabin to get away from it all, but close to Maggie Valley, Cherokee and Asheville. We also spent one day in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. I hope to see you again next year when we come back. Next year will mark 5 years we have been visiting!!!!!! That says it all. Thank you again — Beth.
Bison Escape was very comfortable and secluded cabin. Lots of privacy; close to the main farm. We loved seeing the bison getting their breakfast oats. There were 2 horses pasturing in an area directly next to our driveway and we had a great time every day feeding them apples and carrots through the fence. They were our dear friends by the time we left!!! Loved the hot tub, the front veranda, and luscious views into nearby meadows. Very relaxing… Dave & Lisa, September 2016
This was a perfect trip! My wife & I took our 3 boys & to them, animals & trains are just as exciting as Disney World! Though it is secluded, it is also centrally located to many adventurous locations. We look forward to visiting again. Simpsonville, SC April 2018
Excellent cabin! Great customer service! It was very quiet and secluded but still reasonably close to Asheville, Maggie Valley, and Cherokee. We went to watch the Bison get feed, definitely a must! Cheryl even provided a small amount of firewood, perfect for an evening or two of Smores. The game room was great, the kids loved it. The hot tub was very relaxing, just make sure to check the temp as soon as you get there. It is cleaned and refilled after every stay so the temp is most likely adjusted down. The playground is neatly tucked away in the woods just down from the top of a hill. It is a good play area and the hike was not too bad. I’m pretty sure the OLDER KIDS (adults) enjoyed the scenery more. Will certainly be back! Joan Taylor, SC
We wanted to experience something with our seven-year old that would be exciting and unique for all three of us, and this fit the bill perfectly! Cheryl was always right on it with answers to our questions, the caboose was as cool as I’d hoped, the details are perfect, it’s a super cozy luxe suite with a loft our son adored, we all loved seeing the grazing buffalo right outside and the animals including llamas just a short walk away! I would highly Recommend the caboose for a unique adventure and fun for all! Theresa S., August 2016
My husband and I and our two children, (11 and 13-year-olds) stayed here with our two dogs for our winter break from school. We all fell in love with the cabin the minute we saw it. We did a lot of skiing in Maggie Valley and it was only a 15-20 minute drive there each day. We got very lucky and there was a lot of real snow the week we were there. It was beautiful. We all enjoyed coming back to the cabin and my son and husband would build a big fire to relax after a long day of skiing. My daughter and I enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub as well. My kid’s favorite thing was definitely the animals. They would make sure we got change every day before leaving Maggie Valley so they could get food for the animals out of the little machines and feed them each day. Cheryl and her family were all very helpful with any and all questions we had. We lost water for just a short time one afternoon but someone was out within a few minutes of reporting the issue. It was due to the extremely cold temps but was fixed immediately. We were very impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of everyone. We definitely plan to return, my daughter asked if we could move there.

Buffalo Creek Vacations is a family owned & operated business. Our dad, along w/ our mom, Harriet Clackett, made the move to the beautiful Smoky Mountains in 1994. We all just fell in love with the area & all that it has to offer from hiking & waterfalls in the summer to the beautiful foliage in the fall, skiing in the winter & new baby bison being born in the springtime.
We also purchased several cabooses that were relocated to the property & we renovated them and started renting them out! We hope you love the mountains like we have all come to!
